OUR MISSION...

Mothers and their Baby

Our mission is to empower, educate, and support mothers in Southwest Virginia by fueling meaningful connections within our community. We believe that all mothers deserve to flourish in all aspects of their lives.  We believe that it takes a village to raise a family, and no woman should feel isolated. We believe in empowering women to prioritize their well-being and in connecting mothers to resources they need to be happy, healthy, and confident.

We began as a group of women who came together for the Southwest Virginia Mom Expo in 2019 with the goal of empowering and educating parents on a range of topics, including exercise, physical therapy, self-advocacy, neurobiology, gynecology, nutrition, and mental health. Through the Mom Expo, we learned that there is an untapped opportunity to connect mothers to each other and to resources in the Roanoke area.

When COVID hit in 2020, we decided that offering a virtual way for women to connect with community leaders and maternal health providers was more important than ever. Last year, our focus was on Pregnancy & Postpartum to support mothers in the most fragile stage and earliest part in their motherhood journey.

We wanted to continue to support women throughout all stages, so the 2021 Summit is Pregnancy & Beyond: A Motherhood Summit, where we will be addressing common issues throughout the various stages: Pregnancy/Postpartum, Pre-K to Elementary, and Teens/Tweens.

Attendees will be able to participate in small group discussions with experts, interactive and engaging activities and sessions with community partners and maternal health providers, and network and meet health professionals, community leaders, and Huddle Up Moms Huddle Leaders.

We know it takes a village to raise a family and we want to provide women the resources they need locally to build that family...
