OUR MISSION...

Mothers and their Baby

Our mission is to empower, educate, and support mothers in Southwest Virginia by fueling meaningful connections within our community. We believe that all mothers deserve to flourish in all aspects of their lives.  We believe that it takes a village to raise a family, and no woman should feel isolated. We believe in empowering women to prioritize their well-being and in connecting mothers to resources they need to be happy, healthy, and confident.

We began as a group of women who came together for the Southwest Virginia Mom Expo in 2019 with the goal of empowering and educating parents on a range of topics, including exercise, physical therapy, self-advocacy, neurobiology, gynecology, nutrition, and mental health. Through the Mom Expo, we learned that there is an untapped opportunity to connect mothers to each other and to resources in the Roanoke area.

Motherhood is wonderful, challenging, and complicated. It can also be exhausting. Join  Huddle Up Moms  at The inVisible Load of Motherhood as we use this day to hold a mirror up to the physical, mental, and emotional labor of motherhood that too often goes unseen in our community. Whether you're looking to meet other moms or find ways that you can be better supported by our community - the 2023 Summit will inspire, empower, and elevate how we think about motherhood today.

This year’s Summit will be held on Saturday, June 10th from 9am - 3pm at the Virginia Tech Carilion (VTC) School of Medicine & Fralin Biomedical Research Institute.

Attendees will be able to participate in small group discussions with experts,
interactive and engaging activities and sessions with community partners and maternal health providers, and network and meet health professionals, community leaders, and Huddle Up Moms Huddle Leaders.

We know it takes a village to raise a family and we want to provide women the resources they need locally to build that family.
